Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Sports Information Director. In this role, you will have the opportunity to combine your love for sports with your creative skills to help promote our athletic programs and student-athletes.

DWU is looking for a creative sports enthusiast whose passion will lead to furthering the Tiger athletic brand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Distribution of sports information via press releases and social media,
• Coordination of media coverage, design of print materials and digital graphics, preservation of stats and historical records, public announcements at home and road contests
• Coverage of special athletic events, and management of the DWU athletic website and app.

As a brand ambassador, the SID will create engaging social media content, including graphics and videos, to increase brand awareness and visibility. This position will work closely with the DWU athletic administration, coaches and the marketing and communications department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and
• Two-to-three years of experience in a sports information or public relations role.
• Must have experience with statistical reporting and management of social media accounts to build community awareness, including X, Facebook and Instagram.
• Knowledge of studio photography; Associated Press Style writing and editing; Adobe software, including Photoshop and InDesign; statistical, video production, and CMS software is preferred. Experience with Presto Sports, StatCrew, Hudl and Box Out Sports is a plus.

Successful candidates will have strong written and oral skills, experience with sports information and handling media relations, ability to manage and prioritize projects, ability to work independently and to make tight deadlines, strong attention to detail with historical stats and record keeping, and a demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of DWU. This position will require evening and weekend hours throughout the academic year. Some travel is required.
